Trauma Release Exercises (TRE)

My guest today is Dr. David Berceli, PhD, creator of TRE® (Tension, Stress & Trauma Release Exercise) which is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. TRE® safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.

Dr. Berceli explains the potential therapeutic value of tremors in this Youtube video and is the author of Shake it Off Naturally.

This Youtube video is a testimonial of a man diagnosed with Essential Tremors who found TRE helpful.

How to Create New Neural Pathways

Doing the same things the same way day in and day out dig deep ruts into the same, tired neural pathways. Our neurons get rutted and cluttered with debris. Symptoms flare.

What can be done? Existing neurological pathways can be cleared and cleansed or we can create new pathways. Either approach reduces or eliminates symptoms.

The most expedient approach is to pave new pathways which means our habits have to be transformed. How can this be accomplished? Answering this question has been the focus of my research over the past year. Two opportunities are available to explore the possibilities.

First, natural methods to create new neural pathways can be explored which is the focus of my Jump Start to Recovery  course.

Second, I discuss a variety of exciting methods for creating new neural pathways during this radio show. All of my suggestions embrace natural approaches.

Treatments for Tremors

During my show today I preview highlights from my new book, Treatments for Tremors, and offer suggestions about natural therapies that have proven successful in calming them. What are the causes of tremors? What natural remedies helps calm them? I have taken the best ideas which have emerged from a exciting decade of research.

A variety of natural therapies that sedate tremors are previewed. These include supplements, essential oils, herbs, foods and other therapies that have proven successful. The focus of my research has been to identify therapies that always put you in control of your own recovery program. Take control of the tremor rather than allowing the tremor to control you.

My new book, Treatment for Tremors, is now available in two forms: a paperback and a download to your computer.

QiGong for Health and Happiness

In this show, we explore Qigong as a primary strategy for healing Parkinson’s. Wisdom Healing Qigong (WHQ) is a particular form of the ancient Chinese spiritual practice that focuses on personal health and well being, blending essential ancient teachings into one gentle practice of movement, visualization, chanting and meditation. Compatible with traditional Chinese and modern western medicine, it fits all abilities and is very effective for chronic and acute health conditions.

Joining me on the Parkinsons Recovery Radio show Monday is my guest Bill Bulick who uses Qigong as a primary strategy for healing Parkinson’s. Bill has been practicing Wisdom Healing Qigong daily for almost 4 years.

He was originally inspired by the story of Bianca Molle who reversed her Parkinson’s symptoms through this practice and a former guest on Parkinsons Recovery Radio. Bill has been a devoted student of Mingtong’s since 2011, has attended six 10 day retreats, has increased his practice to 2-4 hours, and is now in the WHQ Teacher Training Program.

Candida as a Factor that Contributes to Symptoms of Parkinson’s

Do you have any evidence of a fungus on your body – perhaps on your toes? Do you have a white tongue? You may have a candida overgrowth which is a cause of your current symptoms.

My guest on the show today is Lidia Epp, co-author of the publication – “Chronic polystemic candidiasis as a possible contributor to onset of idiopathic Parkinson’s disease”. She will share with us how Parkinson’s disease that affected her husband changed the course of her life and eventually lead her to the in-depth study of possible causes of the PD. A molecular biologist by profession – Lidia researched scientific data and came to a conclusion that Candida can contribute to the symptoms of Parkinson’s.
